Miracles Signs And Wonders
The following are miraculous supernatural experiences found in the Book of Acts: • Christ ascended to Heaven (Acts 1:9).
At Pentecost, a miraculous visible manifestation of supernatural wind and fire appeared. The believers supernaturally spoke in other tongues
(Acts 2:3). • Wonders and signs were done by the apostles
(Acts 2:43). • The healing of a lame man at the temple gate made a deep impression on the whole city (Acts 3:7-11; 4:16-17). •
God answered prayer by an earthquake (Acts 4:31).
• Ananias and Sapphira died by a stroke from the Lord (Acts 5:5-10). •
Signs and wonders, by the apostles, continued (Acts 5:12). •
Multitudes from surrounding cities were healed by Peter’s shadow (much like the days of Jesus in Galilee) (Acts 5:15-16). •
Prison doors were opened by an angel (Acts 5:19). •
Stephen wrought great wonders and signs (Acts 6:8).
In Samaria, Philip did great miracles and signs (Acts 8:6-7,13).
Multitudes believed, were saved and healed, and demons were cast out. • Saul was converted by a direct voice from Heaven (Acts 9:3-9). •
Agabus prophesied about a famine coming to Jerusalem (Acts 11:28). •
At the word of Ananias, scales fell from Saul’s eyes (Acts 9:17-18). •
In Lydda, Peter healed Aeneas, and the whole region was converted to Christ (Acts 9:32-35).
In Joppa, Peter raised Dorcas from the dead, and many believed on the Lord (Acts 9:40-42). •
Cornelius was directed by an angel who appeared supernaturally to send for Peter. After believing in Christ Jesus Cornelius received the Holy Ghost and supernaturally spoke in other tongues (Acts 10:34-48). •
A voice from God sent Peter to Cornelius and later convinced the Jews that Peter was right about the salvation of the Gentiles (Acts 10:9-22; 11:15,18).
A prison gate opened of its own accord (Acts 12:10). •
The blinding of a sorcerer led the Proconsul of Cyprus to believe (Acts 13:11-12). •
Paul did signs and wonders in Iconium, and a multitude believed (Acts 14:3-4). •
At Lystra, the healing of a cripple made the multitudes think that Paul was a god (Acts 14:8-18).
Narration of signs and wonders convinced Jewish Christians that Paul’s work among the Gentiles was of God (Acts 15:12,19). •
In Philippi, Paul healed a soothsayer, an earthquake released Paul and Silas from prison, and the jailor was miraculously converted (Acts 16:16-34).
In Ephesus, 12 men spoke in tongues and special miracles done by Paul made the Word of the Lord prevail mightily (Acts 19:6,11-12,20). •
In Troas, Paul raised a young man from the dead (Acts 20:8-12).
In Melita, the healing of Paul’s hand from the viper’s bite made the natives think Paul was a god, and Paul healed all in the island who had diseases (Acts 28:3-6, 8-9). •
Dreams and visions were received by Peter (Acts 10:3), Paul (Acts 9:3-4), and John (Book of Revelation). •
Philip was bodily transported by the Holy Spirit from one geographical area to another (Acts 8:39-40).
Supernatural Angelic Visitations. Acts also records many instances of God’s people receiving visitations from angels. •
Angels delivered the apostles from prison (Acts 5:19). •
An angel spoke to Philip and directed him (Acts 8:26). •
The angel directed Cornelius to find a preacher so that he could be saved (Acts 10:3,7,22; 11:13-18; 15:5-11).
The angel awakened Peter, talked to him, directed him, and delivered him out of prison (Acts 12:7-11,15). •
The angel of the Lord killed Herod (Acts 12:23). •
An angel stood by Paul, talked to him, encouraged him, and then preserved him and the entire ship’s crew (Acts 27:33).
These supernatural experiences were the reality of the early Church.
